• The Saudi Ports Authority has received numerous complaints concerning the imposition of additional funds by some shipping agents

    Asharqia Chamber presents its Best regards, and would like to inform you about receiving a letter of the Saudi Ports Authority- King Abdulaziz Port - Dammam No. (16/6/13430) dated (3/6/1439), which referred to a memo that sent by the Director General of Maritime Affairs at the Saudi Ports Authority No. (1/31/42544) dated (21/5/1439). It indicates that the Authority has been receiving several complaints regarding the fact that some shipping agents impose additional funds from (importers and exporters), as the calculation of additional amounts for services specified by a tariff issued by the Saudi Ports Authority and the Saudi Railway Organization. Also, they were refraining from delivering shipments except in the case of the submission of undertakings that reflect concepts that are contrary to the applicable commercial conventions.

     

    The memo ensures that the Saudi Ports Authority will take its regular procedures in the event of any of the violations described therein.
